ebm-papst UK is part of the ebm-papst Group, a global leader in air and drive technology. With over 20,000 products, they provide energy-efficient and intelligent solutions for a wide range of ventilation and drive applications.
Project overview.
Client: ebm-papst
ebm-papst needed a bespoke real-time monitoring dashboard to track the performance and health of their physical devices. This project involved full web development, hosting, and infrastructure setup for seamless data insights. We led the entire UX and UI design process, focusing on usability and efficiency to create an intuitive, user-friendly solution.
The core focus was on the technology used to connect to devices and how information was then displayed through a user friendly dashboard. An additional two key factors were security and reliability. As a company who serve many thousands of clients in the UK, they needed to ensure their system was not vulnerable to web-based attacks and that their clients had access to up-to date information about their machines with accurate alerts.
The result is a responsive platform that enables ebm-papst to monitor key metrics in real time, improving decision-making and operational efficiency.

Building the solution.
We created a full range of UI designs based on the initial brief. This covered a range of topics, from delivering key information to multi-site operations and alerts through to what data was required and most useful to have in real time.
Once signed off, our Laravel development team then ensured the data was packaged and sent correctly, showing accurate information in real time. This work was completed in tandem with the products team at ebm-papst who had to utilise new technology and firmware updates to facilitate the setup of the system.
Following completion there was extensive testing to ensure a seamless experience across platforms, with the product then going on to be released at EMEX 2024 (a national trade show).
The InSights platform is currently being rolled out to existing clients and new clients, with ebm-papst excited to showcase the new range of real-time information they can now deliver to clients via the dashboard.
