With Christian joining us in December, our team has expanded ready for the new year

To help us and you get to know him a little better, we put some questions to him.

Tell us about your career to date… how did you end up here at WCD?

After graduating from De Montfort University with a BA in English Language and Creative Writing, I went on to complete a two-month internship as a Researcher and Content Creator for an eLearning company based in London. This was my first experience of digitally based work and is what initially got me interested in this field.

Next, I secured my first full-time job working as a Marketing Coordinator for PAB Languages, a company that provides translations and interpretations for over two hundred languages. Due to the remote nature of the work at PAB proving difficult, I was on the lookout for a team-based environment where I could learn and expand on my current skill set.

When I got the opportunity to work as a Junior SEO and Marketing Executive at We Create Digital, I grasped it with both hands. This role will allow me to express myself by producing creative written content whilst working with the team to improve my knowledge of technical SEO and digital marketing as a whole.

What website would be on your bucket list to work on at some point?

I’d like to make a website where keen writers can share their written work and projects amongst other like-minded individuals. There would be different pages for varying styles of writing, as well as a comment section and editing tool to allow for peer marking. As the editing process is the most meticulous part of writing, any help and suggestions are always greatly appreciated.

Mac or PC?

I have always used PCs because I’m an avid gamer and have played games ever since we got our first family computer back when I was about nine years old. Although I’m aware of the build quality and durability of Macs, their lack of adaptability to most major online games (and their price tag) deterred me from ever trying one. Since joining WCD, I have been using a Mac and can definitely say that when it comes to working, they are easier to use and faster than a PC. Overall I would have to say I prefer a PC although there’s a good chance I’ll soon change my mind.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work I spend my time playing football, gaming, and writing. I started playing football with my brothers at a young age. I then played at an academy for 8 years growing up, and I’m currently playing for Stanway Rovers FC. I have an Xbox and play popular mainstream games like CoD and Fifa, but on PC I like to play games that I pick up mostly on Steam Summer Sales. I have written a murder mystery short story which is published on Amazon, and I’m currently working on a fantasy novel.

Favourite sports team/film/band?

I support Arsenal, despite losing spectacularly to their academy team a few times when I was younger. My favourite film is The Prestige followed by The Usual Suspects and Shutter Island. I’m laid back when it comes to music but if I had to choose a favourite band, Red Hot Chilli Peppers always sound good.
