We’d like to introduce you to our recent starter: Brandon.
Brandon is a second-year student at the University of Essex, where he is undertaking a Computer Science degree. We wanted to find out a little more about him, so we decided to sit him down for a round of quick-fire questions.
Tell us about your career to date… how did you end up here at WCD?
The only two jobs I’ve had are working as a Retail Assistant in Costcutter and Havens Hospice; I got these jobs at the same time about two months before I started my second year of University. I’m working here at WCD as a placement student because I feel that being able to leave education with a year of work experience in an industry I want to join once I’ve completed my degree is invaluable.
What website would be on your bucket list to create at some point?
I would love to create a website like Twitch.tv as there are so many aspects of it now which would be a great achievement on their own to accomplish and provide skills that could be used for a multitude of different scenarios or projects.
Mac or PC?
My go to has always been PC as I’m an avid tech enthusiast and gamer. I like the ability to tinker with my pc by changing and upgrading different parts inside of it. Though now I have had some time here at WCD I’ve grown to enjoy using a MAC as a work machine much more than a PC so overall I would have to say PC for leisure and MAC for work.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I my biggest hobbies are cooking and gaming. Ever since I started uni I’ve found cooking a great way to relax and try new foods and recipes, I also love to get lost in a game with a good story to enjoy while I play.
Favourite sports team/film/band?
I’ve not really followed any sport for a long time now but my go to football team is West Ham United. When it comes to films Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is my favourite film that I could always watch just because of how much I enjoy the final battle in that film. For my favourite band A Day To Remember is my top choice, I’ve been listening to them since early secondary school and there’s not one album I don’t like.
